Case Studies: Brand, Focus, Transition
Case 1: No Focus
The client had strong experience in Client Services, IT Strategy, SAAS Integration, Customer Success, Program Management and General Management. He was unable to move into General Management until he focused. He focused on General Management and was hired quickly by a Fortune 500 company starting up a new division.
Case 2: No Brand
A Chief Operating Officer was having trouble establishing interest in his background until I pulled- in his successes to the first sentence of his elevator pitch: “With 20 years Management Consulting experience in IT Services, I have grown revenues from $20 to $200 million. I would like to explain this process to you and invite you to give me a call at the following number.”
Case 3: Weak Brand
A Director of Customer Success had placed all her emphasis on customer satisfaction with no mention of revenue growth. After exploring this aspect, she changed her brand to focus on revenue growth as well as customer satisfaction. She was hired into a new position, getting a 200% salary increase.
Case 4: Power Networking
A General Manager from the Semiconductor Industry wanted to shift over to Sales in the LED Industry. We identified 50 companies and 35 VP’s to contact. He developed compelling questions and information gifts to share with them when he called to network. He established himself as an expert in this field and landed a new position within 2 months.
Case 5: Rebranding
Director of Advertising wanted to change both industries and functions. I rebranded him and introduced him to the Director of IT at a leading retail company. Because of the correct branding, he was hired after one interview.
Case 6: No Focus
Sr. Director had 4 interviews a month, but no offers. After completing this program and getting laser clear on what to say in the interviews, he was hired immediately as a Sr. Director.
